Enjoy a personalized wine tour of the West & North West Auckland wine regions. Commence by discussing wines of most interest to you, the day will then be customized to suit your interests.

Often considered the cradle of the New Zealand wine industry the West Auckland vineyards were started by European immigrants in the early 20th Century. The region is best known for its Bordeaux style wines, especially its mouth-filling Cabernet Sauvignons and its complex and fruity Chardonnays.

Leaving West Auckland travel North along the East Coast passing through small seaside towns and farming communities along the way to the Matakana region.

Vineyards in the Matakana region are producing superb wines from grapes grown exclusively on their own estates. These boutique wineries pride themselves on doing things their own way, growing grapes suiting individual vineyards “terroir” to create wine with true regional distinction.

Pinot Gris is one local specialty. There are also some wonderful Chardonnays and Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlots to try as well as delicate Pinot Noir.

Today you will have the opportunity to discuss with the wine makers what makes the region unique.
