Day 1 Auckland - Watomo Caves - Rotorua
Depart 7:30 am.
Journey south to the farms of the Waikato. Follow
the Waikato River, New Zealands longest, to Hamilton before
continuing on to the Waitomo Caves. Visit the Glow Worm Caves with
their millions of fairy lights (Included). Reboarding the coach
traverse the Mamaku Ranges before descending to Lake Rotorua and
the City. On arrival in Rotorua visit the Agrodome where the stars
of the show are nearly all sheep. Then relax amongst ative bush
and crystal clear pools teaming with Brown and Rainbow trout. Complete
the day with a visit to geysers, steaming pools and boiling mud.
This evening we recommend you experience a
Maori Hangi and Concert.
Day 2 Rotorua - Taupo - Mt. Ruapehu
Travel through some of the world's largest man
made forests and view geo-thermal power stations to arrive Lake
Taupo. On arrival your half day sightseeing tour includes Craters
of the Moon geo-thermal park, Huka Falls, Aratiatia Rapids, Wairakei
Geothermal Park and lake-side attractions. Leaving Taupo round the
lake to Turangi. Traverse Pihanga Saddle and enter Tongariro National
Park with its awesome volcanoes.
Day 3 Mt. Ruapehu - Auckland
Travel up the mountain road and ride teh chairlifts
to the Knoll Ridge Chalet (optional). Time allows for a brief alpine
walk before returning to your accommodation. This afternoon board
the Overlander Train. Travel over the famous Raurimu Spiral and
through the hilly King Country district to reach the Waikato countryside
and Hamilton, from here retrace your route to Auckland. Arrive approximately
7.50pm
