Day 1 Auckland - Bay of Islands Crossing the Harbour Bridge pass by the city's northern suburbs to reach the subtropical Hibiscus Coast. Traversing the Brynderwn Ranges enjoy the dramatic seascapes before continuing on to the city of Whangarei and Paihia in the Bay of Islands. This afternoon depart on the Cape Brett cruise aboard a luxury Catamaran. Voyage by sub tropical islands before passing through the Hole-in-the-Rock itself. Day 2 Cape Reinga Day Trip Today journey to Cape Reinga, New Zealand's most northerly point. Highlighs will include a visit to the Puketi Kauri Forest, a drive along 90 Mile Beach, riding the sand dune sledges (if you dare) and finally, Cape Reinga and the meeting of the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean. A picnic lunch is included. Day 3 Bay of Islands - Rotorua This morning retrace your journey to Auckland. After a short break continue on south through the lush Waikato farmland to arrive Hamilton. Departing Hamilton traverse the Mamaku Ranges and descend to Rotorua located on teh shores of the sparking Lake Rotorua. Day 4 Rotorua This morning's half day tour first visits geysers, steaming pools and boiling mud. The excitement continues at the Agrodome where the stars of the show are nearly all sheep. After learning of our farming heritage relax amongst Paradise Valley's native bush and crystal clear pools teaming with Brown and Rainbow trout. The afternoon is free. Day 5 Rotorua - Taupo Travel through some of the World's largest man made forests and view the geo-thermal powerstations to arrive Lake Taupo. On arrival your half day sightseeing tour includes Craters of the Moon geo-thermal park, Huka Falls, Aratiatia Rapids, Wairakei Geothermal Park and lake-side attractions. The balance of the day will be free. Why not try a guided fishing excursion, jet boat ride, game of golf or bungy jump? The Taupo region boasts countless activities. Day 6 Taupo - Auckland This morning will be free for additional sightseeing. The route to Auckland travels again via the central North Island pine forests. Pass through the logging towns of the Tokoroa, Putararu, Tirau and the Waikato countryside to Hamilton. Retrace the route along the banks of the Waikato River to Auckland. Arrive approximately 6.30pm. Alternatively Day 6 Taupo - Wellington Round Lake Taupo to Turangi. Pass below the mighty volcanic peaks of Tongariro National Park prior to descending to the Manawatu plains. Journey through the market garden towns of Levin and Otaki and past Kapiti Island Bird Sactuary to arrive Wellington - the Nation's Capital. Arrive approximately 4.35pm. |
